Free Breakfast & Lunch
LUNCH IS FREE FOR ALL NYC PUBLIC SCHOOL STUDENTS!
The New York City Department of Education offers free breakfast, lunch and afterschool meals to all NYC public school students during the school year.
You do not need to apply for your child to receive meals. However, we do ask families to complete Family Income Inquiry Form, which helps schools receive money for their programs.
If you have a MySchoolBucks.com balance remaining from prior years, you may request a refund. Please email SFLunchRefunds@schools.nyc.gov with your questions.
Please join us in spreading the word that breakfast and lunch are free for all NYC public school students every day. We hope your child will take advantage of this wonderful opportunity and come enjoy a healthy meal with us.
Take-Out Meals for Remote Learning
Remote Learning Students may pick up a free breakfast and lunch at select locations. The parents/guardians of those students may also pick up the take-out meals. Take-out meals for students and other NYC children will be available on school days from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM. No registration, ID, or documentation required.
The online application is easy to complete and saves time and paper!
FREE BREAKFAST AT SCHOOL
Children who eat a healthy breakfast pay more attention in class and have lower rates of tardiness and absenteeism. To encourage students to take advantage of these benefits, breakfast is at NO COST in school for all New York City students.
SchoolFood ensures that free breakfast is available for all students by offering breakfast via one or more of the following breakfast service models.
Grab & Go: These meals can be picked up in the school dining room or at a designated station strategically located in a highly traveled area, such as the school’s lobby.
